Puppy Training Schedule

We recommend the following puppy training schedule by age for training your puppy, but you should adapt the schedule as appropriate for your puppy. The schedule indicates when to start training, not necessarily when to stop. Potty training for example will begin immediately, but may continue for many weeks. The schedule doesn’t cover all of what you may want to train, but it should suffice for most people, and serve as solid starting point for anything more advanced.

Manners-  It's easier to avoid than to fix a bad habit.

  • Teach your puppy to be calm indoors
  • Your puppy should take food gently from your hand. Nipping and biting are fairly easy to train away from
  • Some people will prefer your puppy not jump on them, don’t allow them to start doing it early
  • Train your puppy to relax stay when you’re grooming him
